Oral

The conference halls, where the oral presentations will be made, will be equipped with the following facilities:

-   Computer (Windows XP, Power Point 2003, Adobe Acrobat Reader)

-   Projection equipment (Data projector, overhead projector)

-   Screen

-   Wireless lavaliere microphone (for presenters)

-   Podium microphone (for chairpersons)

-   Laser pointer

-   Remote control mousse

All oral presenters are requested to check that the presentation file works as expected prior to presentation.

The LABTECH Technical Committee strongly recommends the use of the computer provided in the conference hall for all oral presentations. Staff will load the presentation file onto the computer with a standard file name and presentation number. The presentation should be provided as a Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt) or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file on either CD or USB flash memory. If this is impractical, please ask the staff to transfer the file using the available media readers and interfaces.

To make sessions preparation easier, it is strongly recommended that you send your PowerPoint presentation before the conference to your session organizer (preferably no later than October 10, 2007). If you require special plug-ins or pieces of software to be installed for your presentation, please specify these in advance. Please let the organizers know if you have special requirements for your presentation by October 10, 2007. We may not be able to fulfill requests received after this date!

A Speaker preparation Room in the pre-function area will be available for you to check PowerPoint slides or other equipment.

If it is absolutely necessary to use a private computer, two RGB sockets are available for connection to the data projector. However, due to time constraints in presentation time schedule, it is strongly recommended the presentation be loaded onto the computer provided in each conference hall to facilitate smooth transition between presentations. If using a private computer, please ask the session staff for assistance prior to the session (e.g., during lunch or coffee breaks) to check connectivity between the private computer and the projector, and to preview slides in order ensure that the turnover between presentations is as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to provide additional time for individual presentations should technical difficulties be encountered.

An overhead projector (OHP) is also available for use in presentations. If use of the OHP is necessary, please inform session staff (wearing the appropriate badges) in advance.  Please use the wireless lavaliere microphone and laser pointer provided.

Time allotted for each presentation is as follows:

Introduce yourself to your Chair, who will be in the room 15 minutes prior to the start of the session.

Send short biography about yourself to your session organizer by October 10, 2007 in order for the session chair to introduce you.

For speakers at the special session “Future Challenges to Meet Global Demands for Quality Testing “, the presentation length is 20 minutes and a one-hour panel discussion will follow the session where all speakers will participate in addressing questions from the audience.

Poster

The size of the poster boards will be 180 cm height x 120 cm width, raised at 50 cm from the floor level. The boards are double sided and the poster board surface allows sticking and pinning.  Blue-tack and pins for attaching your poster to the board will be provided.

When designing your poster please take into account that margins of at least 5 cm should be allowed.

Place the title of your paper prominently at the top of the poster board to allow viewers to identify your paper easily. Indicate the title and the author(s) names of your paper. Highlight the author's name and address information, in case the viewer is interested in contacting him/her for more information.

Prepare the text, as well as all diagrams or charts neatly and legibly beforehand.  The size should be sufficient to be read at a distance of 1.5 meter.

The poster session will run on the first day of the Conference, Monday 20 October 2008, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Basement Exhibition Hall. The time for putting up your poster is on the same day, between 4:00 to 6.00 PM. By then you will have received a number for your poster from your session organizer, which will be clearly marked on the poster boards and also used for identifying your poster in the program.
